Today is quite an exciting day for me- my new slr arrived in the mail. Actually, it's my first slr, and like everything else that I finally take the plunge and invest in, I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. Beau has been a good sport for me this morning as I play around and learn the different lenses. My previous camera would only take good shots in natural light- now i can finally shoot inside my studio, not just at the window. I am very excited about this! In case you were wondering, Beau is just yawning, although he looks like he's about to eat me.

Yay! So fun! Can't wait to see how your photo's change and progress from here. Feel free to pass on any pointers you pick up!

At the risk of making myself look the fool, I must ask...what is an slr?

Hi Jenny! It's not a silly question at all. SLR stands for single-lens reflex. As opposed to a point and shoot camera. Here's a full technical definition for you-

Thanks Hollie. My Fuji Fine pix was a great camera for a lot of things- naturally lit photos and micro shots especially. I got the Canon Rebel xsi. It came with two lenses, including a 50mm, which I am having a lot of fun with.
