I have been babysitting my friends garden this past week- she is so lucky to have a sun filled yard where vegetables thrive. With a colander full of tomatoes I referred to my go-to cook book for in season foods- 'simply in season'. It's not a new book, but one that I refer to often now that we have a CSA and friends and family with gardens and farms. The book is divided into the four seasons with simple yet delicious recipes for all the vegetables and fruits of that particular season. When we had an abundant amount of carrots in our share recently I made the curried carrot soup (yum) and tonight the tomatoes and basil will become the fresh tomato and basil gnocchi.
